Prayer
Dr. Mary Relfe and Dr. Yonggi Cho finally meet in person at Montgomery Regional Airport after having been introducted in the Spirit 6 months earlier. Dr. Cho said: "My church has been built on prayers of saints. Prayer brings miracles which in turn produce church growth."
| Miraculous birth of League of Prayer "More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of." Dr. Mary S. Relfe writes about the miraculous in prayer. Around dawn September 8, 1985 in my 2nd hour of approaching God in sincere prayer, the words League of Prayer appeared to me in a vision. They were written on a piece of paper authored by Dr. Paul (David) Yonggi Cho. A word of knowledge accompanied the scrip directing me: "Begin an effort to call America to prayer and secure the service of Dr. Cho to assist." I cut the word impossible from my lexicon! The office made preparations with Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, AL to launch America' s Call to Prayer Convention - the easy part. Dr. Cho pastors the largest church in the world in Seoul, Korea, which had more than 550,000 active members then; 750,000 now. Like Nehemiah (5:7), I consulted with myself. How am I, a pretzel, going to secure the services of this spiritual giant? I said "O Lord, I do not know Dr. Cho, but I know you do. I will assume the daunting task of influencing heaven to influence Dr. Cho to respond to my invitation and come to this Prayer Convention." My Prayer Closet became my native environment. No longer was it a Study, a Quiet Room or even a Bethel. It began functioning as an arena from which some unearthly battles were waged. However, in due time my inner man came to feel that I could lift the world off its hinges - "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Angel, Luke 1:37 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face: My heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.David, Psalms 27:8

We learn to pray by praying. The Secret of praying is praying in secret. We learn to do best what we do most. We learn to pray well by praying much. And, effortless prayer is usually fruitless prayer. Prayer that costs you nothing usually gets you nothing. In giving myself two hours a day in prayer, God taught me how and what to pray. "We do not know how to pray as we ought," Rom. 8:26. Upon mailing the invitation letter, the Lord spoke to me: Now pray that I introduce you in the Spirit to Dr. Cho." Then I knew he would not come without a supernatural intervention, for he didn't know I existed. I prayed this like I breathed for days. One afternoon, the Spirit bore witness that God had introduced me in the Spirit to Dr. Cho. While praising and blessing God for hearing and answering my petition and showing me things to come, the Lord spoke: "Now pray that I show you what I've shown Dr. Cho." "Who has known the mind of the Lord?" Rom. 11:34 It was about 5:00 P.M. when I began praying: "Lord, now show me what you've shown Dr. Cho." I prayed it like I breathed until I retired that evening. Falling asleep, in a vision. I witnessed my introduction to Dr. Cho. I, like Mary of old, declared: My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour. For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden, And He that is mighty hath done for me great things
| Prayer is the only power on earth that commands the power of heaven! (Yet in no area has this modern church so lamentably and notably departed from apostolic precedent as in this matter of prayer). You may obtain tapes, VHS, DVD, or CD in which Dr. Cho explains at the services before thousands at America's Call to Prayer Convention, of being introduced to me in the Spirit and his instructions from the Spirit to "go to Montgomery, AL." Also, my own testimony of these things are on one tape titled Let Us Pray followed by his affirmation.
